A Common Purpose

LDDA emerged with a resolute purpose: to foster lasting friendships and forge unity among dry cleaners and dyers, enabling them to collectively overcome the challenges that beset their trade. In an era marked by material scarcity, the association secured critical resources such as Soda Ash, alongside electricity tariff subsidies, alleviating the burden on members and paving the way for growth.

From Local to State

Over time, the seed of unity planted by LDDA blossomed into a statewide movement. The association’s unwavering dedication led to the establishment of The Punjab Drycleaners & Dyers Association (PDDA), expanding the scope of assistance and guidance to dry cleaners and dyers across the entire state. The torchbearers of LDDA, particularly Sh Sohan Lal Kanojia, continued their invaluable service by assuming leadership roles within PDDA as well.

LDDA has been a steadfast advocate for progress in the dry cleaning and dyeing. Through a series of meticulously curated meetings and interactive workshops, members have been introduced to cutting-edge technologies and innovative chemical processes. These initiatives have not only elevated the standard of services but also empowered members with the tools to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving landscape.

Honoring Tradition

A Golden Jubilee Legacy

In 2008, Sh Ram Lal Gandhi and Sh Manjit Singh Nagpal, luminaries of the industry, gracefully passed on their leadership roles to the dynamic duo of S Balvinder Singh Ahluwalia as President and Sh Rajiv Kanojia as General Secretary. This era culminated in a milestone event – the Golden Jubilee Conference in April 2009 – a momentous celebration that underscored LDDA’s enduring impact on the industry.

Continuing the Legacy

The torch of leadership was passed once again in May 2023, as Sh Chander Shekhar assumed the presidency and Sh Robin Chugh took the reins as General Secretary. With a legacy of excellence and unity, this dedicated team continues to drive LDDA forward, nurturing the spirit of collaboration, and ensuring the association’s mission resonates for generations to come.
